Matilda

Our first creation of Divas and my inspiration to continue designing this very special designer series.  Inspired in the memorable roaring 20’s, times that gave birth to a new type of woman who defied society’s standards of what women were supposed to do, say, wear, act like and be.  Women who gained political power by gaining the right to vote, broke out of her domestic shell and wore shorter skirts, more dramatic makeup, cut her hair and manifested their love to dance, dance dance…. Ladies and Gentlemen, hereby introducing charming Matilda!
“In memory of my grandmother’s closet and how her long pearls, high heels, feathered hats and long white gloves became endless weekend distractions for fun and play.”
Handmade with much love and attention to detail, Matilda’s facial features are completely hand embroidered.  Her blonde hair is made of yarn that has been hand braided and stitched into place. She wears a hand tailored removable dress, consisting of an aqua sequined top and a pink lace skirt sewn to the doll’s body, therefore not removable.  She comes along wearing sewn undies and even has a hand embroidered belly button!
